minanodeBeta release
0.20.0 beta for devnet

Client diversity for Mina. A native node in Rust. A full node in the browser.

A community-led second Mina client, checked against the OCaml node by replaying the chain, checking proofs and comparing fork choice.

Proof points

  • Under a minute

    Devnet sync from scratch

From an empty data directory, via OCaml peers.

  • A few minutes

    Mainnet sync from scratch

Most of it is the ledger download from OCaml peers.

  • Seconds

    Restart to synced

The node replays its saved chain.

  • Under 1 GB

RAM for a devnet full node

A few hundred MB once synced. It runs on a Raspberry Pi.

What it is

A second, independent Mina client

Mina has one working node implementation, OCaml. With a second, a bug in one no longer has to be a bug in every node.

  • Working

    Full node

Syncs mainnet and devnet from OCaml peers and follows the tip.

  • Public devnet

    Block producer

Its blocks reach devnet's best chain. Not yet on mainnet.

Block 579510 (opens in a new tab)
  • Public devnet

    SNARK worker

Produces the transaction SNARK work that block producers buy. Devnet producers buy its work.

  • Coming soon

    Web node

The full node in a browser tab, with nothing to install. It follows this native release shortly.

Native and web

One codebase, two builds

Native

A Rust node

A native daemon for every role, with a GraphQL API and a feed to OCaml's archive.

  • Mainnet

    Replayed block by block

    Every staged-ledger hash matched OCaml.

  • Archive

    Feeds OCaml's archive

Its archive matched one fed by OCaml on every main-chain block.

  • Both ways

    OCaml syncs from it

A fresh OCaml node syncs with the Rust node as its only peer.

WebAssembly

A full node in a browser tab

The same Rust code, compiled to WebAssembly. It syncs mainnet, verifies proofs, and signs and sends transactions over WebRTC.

  • A few MB

    Download

    WebAssembly, compressed.

  • No install

    Runs in a tab

Open the page and it syncs.

  • Block producer

    From the browser

It produced and proved a devnet block in a tab.
